Plan your visit to the Uffizi Gallery

The Uffizi Gallery is one of the top museums in the world, as well as one of the oldest. Every year, millions of visitors to Florence and Tuscany enter into the Uffizi to see with their own eyes some of the most famous works of art and masterpieces that have marked mankind’s artistic innovation through the centuries.

Below are the basics to start planning your visit to the Uffizi Gallery.

Getting to the Uffizi Gallery

On this page, you’ll find the address and a map showing the location of the Uffizi Gallery museum.

Museum Hours

The Uffizi is open Tuesday through Sunday, 8:15 am – 6:50 pm.
This means it is CLOSED on Mondays.

Ticket office closes at 6:05 pm, and museum starts closing down at 6:35 pm.

Every first Sunday of the month, the museum follows normal opening hours and entrance is FREE for everyone. No pre-booked tickets are sold for those dates.

The museum is closed: every Monday, January 1, May 1, December 25.

Note: the museum is open on all holidays that fall during a week day aside from those mentioned above. If a holiday falls on a Monday, when the museum is generally closed, the Museum’s board of directors along with unions will decide whether to do a special opening of the Uffizi on that Monday given the long holiday weekend. These special openings will be on our “News” section so check there if a holiday on a Monday is coming up.
